Accessibility statement

We want everyone to be able to use this website. It aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.

How the site is built

Plain pages that work without JavaScript, apart from the spam check on the contact form.
A link to skip straight to the main content, and a clear outline on whatever has keyboard focus.
Text and background colours chosen for a contrast of at least 4.5 to 1.
Text that can be enlarged, and pages that fit a narrow phone screen without scrolling sideways.
Form fields with visible labels, and errors explained in words next to the field.
One short animation in the drawing on the home page, which plays once. If your device asks for reduced motion, it does not play and the drawing is shown still, and smooth scrolling is turned off.
The drawings are described in words for screen readers. Where a photograph will go, the space is marked and described.

What was checked, and how

Automated checks on every page each time the site is built: page language, page titles, one main heading per page, labels on every form field and text alternatives on every image.
